Guild Territory

A couple people have mentioned guild land so far. But that's as far as it's gone. No one's said where that land will be or what the rules of that land will be. I had a couple ideas on it so, I'm posting them here.

Each guild will get a block of land that is their 'safe' zone. No one of another guild can attack anyone while inside that guild land. However, they can defend themselves if attacked. Example: Steve123 walks into DEAS land, I attack him, he can defend himself. But he can't walk into DEAS land and attack me.

I'm also wondering where this guild land would be located. Surely it wouldn't be scattered all over Alagaesia. So Spaniard would have to make a new on map area/island to put the land on. But he already said he only wants to go by the book maps. So where would it be?

Hmm, not sure about land, but that is a good idea. Not allowing guilds to attack other guild's land. I believe it will be scattered around, but not sure. We proabally should have:

1: a portal, thoug not apart of the books, that would take you to your guild land, so it is technically not on the map

OR

2: land in the plains would provide a good middle ground.

Each guild will get a block of land that is their 'safe' zone. No one of another guild can attack anyone while inside that guild land. However, they can defend themselves if attacked. Example: Steve123 walks into DEAS land, I attack him, he can defend himself. But he can't walk into DEAS land and attack me.

There won't be pieces of the map that are safe zones, only Guild Buildings, etc. The reason for this is to prevent people from getting in a fight and running to their guild's safe zone so they can't get hurt anymore. And to get into a building safe zone you have to be outside of a fight(I'm going to make a timer that starts when someone is not hitting you to indicate if you're safe or not)

I too have been curious as to where the guild land will be. Will we have to use the whole land for a castle or something? Maybe have some sparring grounds or target shooting, etc.

Hey, that would be cool. Having a place that you could bet on who is going to win. they step ito the arena one kills the other. The winner takes the money, neither looses gear, etc. Also, you would not have to bet if you did not want to.

Lol, I actually like this idea.

But we need to have some method of acquiring another guild's land, to make it interesting. Like maybe... "buying" it???

I mean...

Have any of you watched Age of Warriors?

Anyway, in that show, which deals with Koryo on the Korean Peninsula hundreds of years ago, one of the forms of money was land.

In almost every civilization that is feudalistic or morchistic or despotic in nature, land is power.

The more land one of the guilds has, the more power, no matter how you try to cut it, the more powerful that guild will have, because it influences more people and has more access to more resources.

But, in a guild war, there must be some mechanism of seizing another guild's land to reduce it's political and physical power in the game.

And I have a feeling there will be many guild wars.

Ummm, at the moment I dubt guild wars will happen. The DEAS and the Armstrongs are allies for now. Basically until we part ways with theology. Then it will be war.

I like that idea with "Power is land" idea. And I hope that DEAS and the Armstrongs never fight. I hope that the two most popular and powerful guilds are allies forever, don't you??

Ya, DEAS and the Armstrongs are the most powerful guilds so far as far as numbers go. And we're allies. So guild wars won't happen between us.

Owait, I dun haz one... oh, well. Very Happy

I think Guild land would help add to the realism. Plus, it would be neat if you had a way of making something like a script that the guild leader can edit to make stuff on the land, so the things are more personalized and possibly more interactive. It would probably be kinda hard to implement the scripting customization part, though...

Yeah, they can also make huge flags that hang over every guild base you have, displaying the guild motto and logo.
